How Derry City suffered a defeat to champions St Patrick’s Athletic tonight, is anyone’s guess.

The Dubliners’ secured the 1-0 win thanks to Aaron Greene’s second half goal, but in all honesty the Brandywell men, not for the first time in recent weeks, had enough chances to win the game.

Patrick McEleney, Stephen Dooley, Sean Houston and Philip Lowry all had great opportunties to score, but a combination of Brendan Clarke’s goalkeeping display and some last ditch defending, meant Liam Buckley’s side left the Brandywell with the points.

After the game a bitterly disappointed Derry City manager Peter Hutton spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin.
