On Saturday against Glenavon and for virtually the entire first half against Linfield a few weeks ago, his team struggled to get out of their half and were caught in possession just outside the penalty box as they tried to build out from the back.

Some Stute supporters continue to worry that their side maybe caught out at the back, however Kee’s football style, which continues to be pleasant on the eye, has got the Waterside men to where they are now.

Despite this Kee is adamant he doesn’t want his players to change their thinking and keep trying to play the beautiful game the right way, by building out from the back.

“You are trying to get control of the game, by playing through the three thirds of the pitch, granted there might have been maybe one or two occasions were side ways or backward passes which could have been intercepted,” he said.

“The whole thing is about getting momentum to play up the pitch and when we got it out at times we weren’t quick enough and that’s it in a nuts shell.

“That will happen in games but as I said I would rather keep on playing like that and try to learn the game the right way and entertain, because at the end of the day, players will learn more from that than kicking the ball up the pitch.

“Yes at times it’s working and at times it isn’t working, but at the end of the day I’m more interested when it does work, if it doesn’t work we’ll just keep persevering with it because we aren’t going to change our philosophy.”
