Goals dry up for 18th Newtownabbey

Scoring goals has been a problem for 18th Newtownabbey of late.

They haven’t found the net in their last three and manager Michael Jamison admits: “We’re still not just putting it together in the final third.”

Eighteenth lost 2-0 to Sirocco Works in round two of the Steel and Sons Cup on Saturday.

Both goals came after the break, the second a penalty, given for hand ball against Gary Sloan who may have reason to feel hard done by as 18th claim he had his hands up protecting his face from a shot.
