Andy McGrory and Andy Hall both scored a brace with Joel Cooper also on the scoresheet in a game which was only arranged at 11.30am.

“We had been trying to get a game since Wednesday after the Ballymacash game was called off but nothing seemed to be working out,” said Glenavon manager Gary Hamilton.

“We were training on Saturday morning when the call came through that Tandragee’s opponents had pulled out and did we still want a game. It was all a bit last minute but it worked out well in the end.”

Glenavon had early chances with a free kick from Kyle Neill well saved, a shot from Andy Hall was also dealt with by the home keeper but eventually the pressure told with Hall finding the back of the net with a well struck shot. Not long after Glenavon doubled their lead when Joel Cooper cut inside from the right flank and drilled a low shot which took a slight deflection into the net.

Declan O’Brien then broke clear but his shot was pushed away for a corner and he also had a glancing header drift wide.

The second half saw four changes for Glenavon with Tuffy, Hamilton, Singleton and Foster coming on and it was not long until Hall made it 3-0 after some fine approach play.

Andy McGrory scored twice in the last 25 minutes, both from close range, in the right spot each time to finish off two sweeping moves.
