‘Herald and Boyle Memorial Match’ to aid Chest, Heart and Stroke

A CHARITY football match next Monday night, April 22, will remember two very special local men.

Jonny Campbell and Mark Herald are behind the event, which will remember Mark’s father, Adrian, who died back in July of a brain aneurysm and Gareth Boyle, a Garvagh man who died suddenly at the age of 31.

The event will be held at Coleraine Showgrounds with all proceeds going to Chest, Heart and Stroke.

Gareth died from a heart attack at his Killykergan Road home on September 8, 2011.

Gareth was a happy, kind hearted young man who loved life and his job as an assistant bar manager at the Lodge Hotel in Coleraine.

46-year-old Adrian, a well known Coleraine man, worked for many years in Diary Produce Packers.

Jonny explained: “We did a similar fundraiser last year in Gareth’s memory. But this year we’ve changed things slightly and the ‘Herald and Boyle Memorial Match’ will be a tribute to both Gareth and Adrian.”

The match will kick off at 6.30 and Johnny tells that both teams are reeling at the chance to play on the turf at the Showgrounds.

After the game there wil be further fundraising in the Social Club.

“We’ve a host of things lined up for after the match,” told Mark.

“There will be music, promotions, shot girls, games and a raffle.”

Everyone is welcome to come along for this very worthy cause.
