High-flying Hill Street returned to Mid-Ulster play last weekend as Division One leaders but out to make amends for a first defeat of the season prior to the festive break.

Dungannon Rovers moved ahead against the run of play but Hill Street hit back to level thanks to Ian Penny’s slick strike off a David Hawthorne pass. Hill Street grabbed control when Boggs slotted home a cutback by Dwayne Kerr and the scorer doubled his tally following another assist from Hawthorne.

Aaron Kidd’s late save proved decisive during late pressure by Dungannon Rovers.

“We were on top overall,” said Hill Street’s Darren Kennedy. “Other chances fell to Dwayne Kerr and Andrew Hagan over the course of the match, with Andy also hitting the crossbar off a free-kick.

“After losing against Riverdale for our first defeat of the season it was important we got back to winning ways.”

Hill Street would like to thank Stewart Herbert Painting and Decorating for providing matchday sponsorship.
