Hughes: I’ll quit as manager if things don’t improve

Carrick boss Michael Hughes has vowed to step down from the manager’s post if results don’t improve in the next four or five games.

The Championship 1 side have won just once in their last 10 outings and exited the Intermediate Cup at the hands of Amateur League side Immaculata on Saturday.

“We will see where we are after four or five more games and, if things have not improved, then I will say that there are no more excuses; this is now my team and will accept that it’s time for me to step down and let somebody else have a go,” said the former Northern Ireland international.
