Hume cleared to play for Institute

Manager Kevin Deery may give striker Robbie Hume his debut after his clearance came through earlier than expected.

“Robbie was actually cleared to play against Oxford, but he only trained three days last week so it would have been unfair to him,” said Deery.

“He’ll be available to play on Saturday and he’ll get another week of training under his belt.

“He’s another attacking option, he scores goals and he’s dangerous, so we’ll look to give him a role to play this weekend.”

Institute go into the game with confidence slightly up as they are now unbeaten in their last three games and Deery wants that run to continue, but he knows they are going to have a tough game as the home side currently sit six points ahead of them.

Knockbreda know if results go their way they may even move into pole position, as they are currently three points behind leaders Harland & Wolff Welders.

“We have a wee mini run going and I’m looking for us to keep that going,” he added.

“We spoke at how fine the margins are in the Championship, we keep going back to the Annagh United game we dominated that game and they are sitting on nine points.

“We dominated the games against Loughgall and Larne, but we are still sitting on one point, but we are definitely not feeling sorry for ourselves, we are looking forward to the Knockbreda game.

“As I said last week I would have loved the Oxford game to have been a league game to build on the Larne performance, but we are going to have a real bright week at training and prepare for the Knockbreda match.”

The last time the sides met in the Championship at Breda Park came in 2013 when a Michael McCrudden double helped the ten men come from 2-0 down.

Current Carrick Rangers striker Miguel Chines played a major part in the Belfast men’s early advantage that day, but in the end that point helped play a major role in Stute’s promotion that season.
