Maurice steps down as club chairman

After a period of 22 years with the club Maurice McEvoy has decided to take a break from the pressures of being Chairman of Lurgan Celtic.

The club wishes to place on record their thanks for the huge volume of work Maurice has carried out on behalf of it over those years and also to his wife Marie who also was often seen at match days taking charge of the hospitality side of things and although their presence will be greatly missed.

Maurice, however is still doing admin work for the club and is in touch with committee members on an almost daily basis sorting out things with them to ensure a smooth changeover as the new season swings into action and it is hoped in the not too distant future he will be at home games in his usual spot cheering the team on.
