Junior Division 1: What a day it was for pace-setters Castle Star as they rattled home 13 goals at Magherafelt Sky Blues.

The home side’s only response came in the form of an 89th-minute Rob Niblock penalty - and all on the day when they were playing on a new 3G pitch.

Castle’s goals came courtesy of Warren Brown, Dean Meneely (six), Paul Garvey, Michael James, Ryan Murphy, and Ryan Smyth (three).

Tobermore United got the better of Carrick side Woodlands with a 2-0 win on Saturday.

Sam Sufferin broke the deadlock in the 20th minute before Simon Graham doubled their advantage in the 55th minute.

In Junior Division Three, Carrick Swifts lost on the same scorline against Clough Rangers Athletic.

After a scoreless first-half, Jonny McCloy nipped through to open the scoring on 70 minutes. Carrick had to chase the game after this but then conceded a penalty which Paul Gilchrist converted six minutes from time to seal the win for Clough.

Elsewhere, it was yet another afternoon to forget for 1st Carrick Old Boys who were on the wrong end of a 9-1 scoreline away to Newington YC II. The result means the Old Boys have conceded a staggering 109 league goals so far this year.

In Junior Division Four, a Jonny Robb hat-trick and goals from Jamie Montgomery and Neil McKee gave Krag Albion all three points in a 5-0 home win over Monkstown. Albion top the table, three points ahead of Ballysillan Swifts Reserves, with three games in hand.

Jamie Dodds and Adam Sloan were on target as Mallusk Athletic Reserves won 2-0 against second-bottom Mallusk Athletic Reserves.

With the score locked at 2-2 after extra-time it was Antrim Rovers who progressed to round five of the Canada Trophy on penalties at the expense of Forthriver.

Tommy Bownes put Rovers in front, but Alan McVeigh levelled and Steve Vaughan put Rovers 2-1 up.

Anton Watson’s 90th-minute strike forced the game into extra-time and with no further goals scored, it went to spot-kicks with Rovers winning 4-2.
