Mid Ulster derby set to be postponed

The first Mid Ulster derby of the season is set to be postponed with Glenavon having two players involved in the Northern Ireland U21 squad.

With Rhys Marshall and Joel Cooper called up this week by U21 manager Jim Magilton and with James Singleton also on standby it means with two players on international duty Glenavon will seek permission for the game at Shamrock Park on September 5 to be postponed.

The Glenavon pair heard the news on Monday morning and they will be in the squad for the games against Scotland at Mourneview Park on September 5 and away to Iceland three days later.
