Point knocked out of Bob Radcliffe Cup after extra time
The swirling wind whipped up a storm and if the intermittent gusts favoured anyone in the first half, it was the home side, but it was the visitors who created most of the chances.
On the scoreboard however, it was the Point who drew first blood with the opening goal on 15 minutes, but it was a level playing field again when Rathfriland equalised on the cusp of half-time.
Barry Gray’s men went in front again in the second half but Rathfriland equalised again at the death, taking the game into extra time where they found the winning goal.
The Point are back in Cup action in Milltown next Saturday against Abbey Villa in the Irish Cup.
