Preparations underway for County Antrim Milk Cup

WITH a New Year started and seven months to prepare, the 2013 County Antrim Organising Committee held its first combined meeting on Sunday (20th January) at the Dunsilly Hotel in Antrim. Supporting and welcoming the group to the Borough was the Mayor of Antrim Cllr Roy Thompson who has asked to kept informed of progress and events leading up to the tournament.

The purpose of this meeting was for the newly appointed coaching staff to meet the committee and to plan out a programme of events in order to best prepare the youth players who will be selected to represent County Antrim at both Junior level (Under 15) & Premier level (Under 17) at this years prestigious Milk Cup Tournament.

The committee started this planning process back in October 2012 and have been working hard to organise sponsors, budgets, accommodation & venues for the trials & training games. Chairman Clive Gregory said that to get an early start in what is difficult economic times it will allow for better planning and execution of obtaining the funding needed to offer 36 Co. Antrim players a showcase for their talent and perhaps them obtaining a professional career in football.
