Rangers left with the blues

Banbridge Rangers exited the Bob Radcliffe Cup on Thursday evening at Cheney Park against a young Glenavon side who now progress to the Quarter Finals.

The game started at a high tempo and Glenavon opened the scoring on 14 minutes when their striker laid the ball off on the edge of the box and winger Andrew Hoey placed a fine shot in off the crossbar.

Neither side created a clear cut chance before the break with the majority of play taking place in midfield with Glenavon always looking for the counter attack.

Glenavon clipped the top of the bar on 66 mins when a shot was deflected high in the air and keeper Davy Crawford was booked for a foul in a race for a loose ball with striker Andy Hoey.

The same striker was able to get a clear chance on goal on 80 minutess when Conor Hagan released Taggart down the right and Hoey finished the move well from close range.
