THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL

Tourism Minister Arlene Foster has announced that the Brazilian football club Corinthians Paulista are to participate in this year’s Milk Cup.

During the Minister’s visit to the Club, the team announced its intention to send two teams to Northern Ireland in the summer to compete in the junior and premier sections.

Arlene Foster met with the young footballers and told them that she was confident that they would not only enjoy their visit but that it would one of the best experiences of their life. She said: “Every year the Milk Cup attracts top international pedigree, as young footballers travel to Northern Ireland to compete for their country.

“The boys are really looking forward to playing in front of such big crowds and it will be a great opportunity to develop their skills.

“The event has become not only a huge success for local football but also the local economy, tourism, sport and international relations. The local and international media interest it generates provides an invaluable platform to showcase Northern Ireland as a destination to visit.

“I hope the boys from Brazil will enjoy the experience and that our international visitors will return to Northern Ireland again in the future.”
