Trio join Distillery as squad starts to take shape

Three new faces have been added to Lisburn Distillery’s first team squad with an experienced goalkeeper, a proven goalscorer and an old-boy joining the ranks.

Tommy Kincaid has been busy over recent weeks searching for additions to his promotion-building squad.

Former Glenavon and Linfield goalkeeper, Robert Robinson, has joined the club after a spell at Donegal Celtic.

‘Goose’ began as a teenager at the Whites, followed by five years at the Blues before moving on to join Ballymena United and Newry City.

Kincaid has also moved to bring in Ally Wilson from Amateur League 1A runners-up Rathfriland Rangers.

Wilson has bagged over 50 goals in all competitions in each of his last two seasons with the South Down club. Prior to joining Rangers he had played at Championship level with Loughgall.

Midfielder Chris Kingsberry has also re-joined the club after a spell at Banbridge Town. A former Manchester United youth player, Kingsberry has also had spells with Linfield and Ards.

It leaves a first team squad of 16 which currently looks like this: Ryan McBride, Ryan Irwin, Bradley Morton, Mikey Withers, David Wright, Darren Nixon, Carl McConville, Brian Adair, Glen Upton, Mark Tweedie, Niall Doyle, Neil Alderdice, Ben Browne, Stuart Thompson, Ally Wilson, Chris Kingsberry, Robert Robinson .

And that is a squad which, on paper at least, looks to be very competitive at Championship 1 level.

- Supporters have been advised that season tickets will be on sale at the games against Glenavon and Sirrocco Works at New Grosvenor.
