U15s are feeling five alive

THE Town Juniors U15's had a well deserved victory in the first round of the Lisburn Junior Shield.

The locals took the lead on 15 minutes when David Gray scored with a right footed shot that found the corner of the net.

Stephen McCavitt doubled the lead five minutes later with an excellent effort that nestled in the roof of the visitors goal after David Gray had put him through.

As Town piled on the pressure Michael Jordan was unlucky not to add to the score when his header from a Stephen McCavitt corner drifted just wide. Josh Buchanan nearly made it three just before the break with an excellent dribble and shot from the 18 yard line but unfortunately it sailed over the bar.

As the second-half got under way Banbridge were well on top with Garet Orr going close with an effort after a through ball from David Gray. Josh Cargin almost scored when he slid in on an excellent Michael Jordan low cross.

That man Josh Cargin again made a great run down the right and crossed to Josh Buchanan whose shot flew just over the bar.

The all important third goal came after David Gray drove in a low cross from the left and Josh Cargin was there to neatly turn the ball home. A few minutes later Josh Buchanan scored the fourth from close range after an effort by Michael Jordan.
