U15s impress in a ‘three’ and easy victory at Cheney Park

Banbridge Town
Juniors Under-15s 3

Annagh Utd 0

Town Juniors Under-15s welcomed Annagh United to Cheney Park last Saturday morning for their Mid-Ulster clash and claimed all three points with an impressive performance.

The Juniors started well and got into their passing game very quickly, zipping the ball about and putting Annagh under pressure early on.

Annagh were unable to deal with the home side’s attacks but to their credit they held firm for most of the first half.

The deadlock was broken on 28 minutes when Liam Farrell cut in from the left and delivered a pin point pass to Jake Dennison who controlled the ball with one touch before slotting past the helpless Annagh goalkeeper.

The Juniors were on the hunt for a second with the superb Jordan Walker pulling all the strings in midfield, however Annagh did try to launch some attacks of their own but these were easily thwarted by the Juniors composed back four.

Right on the stroke of half time, the hard working Owen Byrne cut in from the left wing before smashing a rocket of a shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the box to give the Juniors a cushion.

As the second half got underway Annagh went in search for a way back into the game but again the Juniors remained unphased and a third goal would soon follow with the Juniors still hungry for more goals, and this came 12 minutes in with substitute Michael Rafferty scoring a superb solo effort.

Town were rampant at this stage especially Jake Laffin surging out of the back four spraying passes and launching attack after attack but the locals were unable to add to their three goal tally.

This week’s man of the match was Jake Laffin for an outstanding display at center of the defence and for leading his team from the back.
