Having lost out to Lurgan Celtic in the Savage Cup Final earlier in the year, the locals are making their second cup final appearance this season, but they know they’ll have their work cut out.

As Glenavon Youth beat Linfield Rangers at the same venue on Friday past to lift the Harry Cavan Youth Cup, cementing their position as one of, if not the top youth side in the country, Dromore’s Mid Ulster Juvenline league side clearly go into the game as underdogs but will relish the opportunity to pit themselves against the Lurgan side.

A Dromore coach said “I’ve seen the Glenavon side, so have some of our players, and at times they were an absolute joy to watch. We were all in agreement that it’ll be a difficult contest, but we can play a bit as well and we’re very much looking forward to having a go and hopefully opening a few eyes.

“It’s our fourth final in three seasons so whilst we’re far from favourites it’s not our first decent cup run. We’ve put together some good performances to get to this final and it’s not every day that our lads get to play in a setting such as Mourneview, so we’re determined to go out and enjoy the occasion and hopefully give a good account of ourselves.”

The locals would very much welcome all support at the game which kicks off at 7:30pm.

Admission having been set at £4 for adults and £2 concession.
