Foyle reach cup final

FOYLE and Londonderry College booked their place in the Ulster Bank Schools Cricket Cup Final, following their empathic 68 runs win over Methodist College, in today's (Thursday) semi-final.

The cup holders' had Nick Donnell to thank for their success, with the Brigade man claiming three wickets for just 20 runs, while duo Graeme McCarter and Andrew Clarke also chipped in with a brace of wickets apiece, to reduce Methodist to 115 all out.

In Foyle's innings teenager David Murdock top scored for them hitting 50 runs, before he was caught behind off Ben McIlroy's bowling, while Jack Glenn also hit an impressive 47 runs, before he too was caught behind by Mark Best from Adam Berry's bowling, as the home sides youngsters notched up 183 from their 32 overs.

Gerald McCarter's side now face Sullivan Upper in the final, which will be staged at Bready Cricket Club, on Friday, June 18.
