GOLF: Ballyclare GC pair set to play at K Club

That’s after the Springvale Road duo top-scored in Monday’s Rory McIlroy initiative at Rockmount GC, in support of the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

Alan and Laura will represent Ballyclare in the All-Ireland final on May 9 and they’ll also play in the Irish Open Pro-Am later next month.

Thirty-eight clubs entered to play in the north four-ball stableford qualifier with the local pair carding 42 points to top the field.

Meanwhile, Greenacres’ All Ireland Fourball team, captained by Alister McKeever, have progressed to the next round by beating Mahee Island 3.5 - 1.5 in the return leg at the weekend (7.5 - 2.5 overall).

The club Ballyrobert club also won their Holt Shield match at Holywood (3-2) on Sunday.
