GOLF: Early lead for Team Nine at Foyle's Spring League

With the second cards returned in the Pauls Butchers Spring League at Foyle Team 9 Stephen Radcliffe, Paul Maxwell, Stephen Moran and Niall Cassidy having returned another fine score of 92 points for an accumulated two card total of 190 points now hold a three point lead over the chasing pack.

Second place at the minute is Team 8 of Kevin O’Kane, John McMonagle, Anthony McMonagle and Tommy Young who currently have 187 points.

In third spot is Team 5 of Cormac McGeady, Damian McColgan, Andy McKeever and Mark Duddy as they have 183 points.

while on 180 points are both Team 2 of Eamon O’Kane, John McDowell, Raymond Tracey and Michael Coyle along with Team 13 of Harry Lafferty, John Lafferty, John Duffy and Gary Kennedy.

Week 14 of the Foyle Sunday Society saw the very good turnout having to contend with some wet conditions which had little effect on the scoring as Damien Ball took top honours with a fine score of 42 points.

Dermott Harkin returned the best of the 41 point to take second place with Steve Moore finishing third.

The Pauls Butchers Spring League and Easter Egg Competitions continues daily, while the Foyle Sunday Society takes place this weekend.

Meanwhile the long and big hitting Michael McShane playing off 13 handicap with 26 points was the winner of last weeks Sunday Society at City of Derry.

Second place was secured by David Smyth (9) after he scored 25 points and Kevin Green (10) was in third place after scoring 24 points in what was blustery wet conditions at Prehen.
