GOLF: McDowell three shots off pace in Singapore

Portrush golfer Graeme McDowell made a good start to the first day of the Singapore open.

Teh Rathmore man was five under after eight holes before play was stopped due to bad weather.

This left him three behind clubhouse leaders Chris Wood and Kim Bi-o.

The Portrush man is just over 450,000 behind Race to Dubai leader Martin Kaymer, who was two under after six.

Gareth Maybin is two off the pace after a 65 while Darren Clarke fired a blemish-free 66 and Michael Hoey a 69.
