Bobby Geddis shines in the Cowdy Seniors tournament at Portadown

The Cowdy Seniors golf tournament was played at Portadown last Wednesday.

Sydney Pepper was captain of the Banbridge team and he was quietly confident.

He had a six-man team, with the four best scores to count.

Bobby Geddis had his best round of the season, 40 points.

Felix Duffy was in top form, scoring 38 points.

Peter Hillen, the man for the big occasion, had 37 points.

Brian Mulholland had a steady, if not spectacular round, 33 points.

That gave Banbridge a team total of 148 points.

This score topped the leaderboard for the best part of the day.

But there were some very strong teams at the tail end.

Kilkeel, Tandragee and Dungannon all finished with 153 points. Concra Wood, who came in with an amazing score of 155 points, outshined them all.

With a score like that, they deserved to win.

Sydney was pleased with his team’s effort and everyone enjoyed the day’s golf.

Sweep results

Sunday 7th September -

Ken Stevenson played the 9 holes Sunday course in 2 under par gross and duly won the sweep.

Ken also shared the 2’s pot with Hugo Downey and Aidy McEvoy. It was a good day all round for Ken.

1st- Ken Stevenson (2) Nett 32.

2nd- Kenny Arlow (14) Nett 32.

3rd- Robert Haire (17) Nett 32.5.
