Members are reminded that the Annual Handicap Review takes place this week and if they have not informed the handicapper of all performances in team or society golf they would need top do so immediately.

With the Sunday Society in full flow and a battle already raging at the top for supremacy between early movers Gavin Morren, John McClafferty and Graham Hepburn it was always going to be a bumper field contending the Sunday Society's fifth outing. When dusk fell it was the venerable George Simms (16) who spread-eagled the field with a superb 37 points.

Big-hitter Gary Leckey (9) smuggled himself into second place with a neat 36 points despite some wayward driving. John McClafferty (12) continued his push for overall supremacy with 35 points and a third place finish. Michael Lynch (17) took fourth place with the same score of 35 points and was only beaten on break of tie over the closing holes. Graham Hepburn (5) again had the Best Gross of the day and his 34 points netted him fifth spot.

Local radio personality Sean Coyle (16) found the right programme for his well-oiled golf swing and his 34 points was good enough for sixth place, again only being beaten on break of tie.

Members are reminded that all can play in the Sunday Society and competition continues until March 27th.
