David wins the LifeboatShield at Bushfoot

David Cartmill, even with two blanks on the card, took the Lifeboat Shield at Bushfoot GC with a tally of 42 points.

He scored 22 points in a front nine which had one of the non-productive holes in it.

He was also rolling along nicely on the return leg with 20 points scored at seventeen when the cursed blank hole appeared at the last to keep him thinking until the final cards were returned later in the day.

David ended up two in front of runner up Charlie McKeegan who scored 40 off his eighteen handicap for his round on the day. Charlie hit a birdie three at eight to pick up four points and this boosted his tally to 22 for nine.

It was much the same for him coming back but, without the birdie, this meant it was 18 points and second place for Charlie.

With birdie threes, one in each nine, Kenny McKillop secured third place with 39 points playing off six.

Meanwhile, Andy McKeeman hit a hole in one at the eleventh to become one of the more popular visitors to bar that afternoon.
