Limerick band the Corrigan Brothers, have released a song celebrating Rory McIlroy’s Open victory.

The Brothers have written “The Open Champion Rory McIlroy” to celebrate the Irish Golfers famous British Open win.

Guitarist with the band Brian Corrigan who is a 17 handicapper said: “Rory has been outstanding and it is great to see him win the claret jug.

“We felt it was a safe bet to start recording the song on Saturday Evening and we are making a bid for the Guinness book of records as the fastest tournament winning song release in the history of golf”.

Brian continued: “It was and edgy finish for Rory fans but when Rory kept his composure on the back nine and got he job done!”

“The Open Champion Rory McIlroy” by Corrigan Brothers was released as Rory pitched in to the 17th Flag at 18:10 on Sunday July 20th.

The Brothers plan to perform the song for Rory in the coming weeks.
