Good win for Bloomer in Time Trial League

PAUL Bloomer blew away the opposition with his second successive win in the Coopers Motorcycles Time Trial League in last week's sixth round over ten miles on the Omagh Road.

The Harps rider recorded a 21.16, 24 seconds ahead of Jonathan Dempsey, a multiple winner over this course in the past.

Young Coagh rider Robert Stewart really impressed, only one second slower than Dempsey as the firts six finishers were all comfortably inside the 22 minute mark.

A good entry of 42 riders took part in last week's fourth round of the Super Six 10 mile Time Trial League, held on the Woodgreen course near Ballymena.

Eight East Tyrone riders took part, with David Heagney's third place moving him to third in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, East Tyrone's Under 14 schoolboy Harry McComb finished runner-up in his category in the David McCall Foundation Ulster Youth League. Harry had his first Open win in the final round at Ormeau Park, Belfast.

Finally, racing continues tonight (Thursday) with round 5 of the Burrows Engineering Road Race League over four laps of the Rock village circuit, starting at Rock GFC at 7.30pm. There will also be racing for youth competitors.
