Graduates too strong for Seven Towers girls

Seven Towers Netball Club faced their second match of the season last week when they took on Queen’s Graduates II.

Unfortunately the start of their league is seeing them meet some of their toughest competition in their league.

The new-look Towers starting line-up was: Siobhan McKillop, GK, Áine McCormick (Captain), GD, Jenny Shell, WD, Teresa Connon, C, Ciara Devine, WA, Laura Gormley, GA and Niamh McDowell, GS.

Graduates took control of the first quarter and won it 12-2.

The second quarter followed in a similar fashion but Towers dug deep and managed to concede less goals in the third quarter with the score 46-4.

The game finished 64-10 but coach Alex Scullion praised the girls for their continued determination.

Laura Gormley was named Towers’ player of the match.

New players always welcome Juniors 6:30-7:30pm and Seniors 7:30pm every Tuesday night at St Patrick’s College.
