High five for leaders Saints against Linfield

The Saints ran out 5-0 winners against Ballyclare-based Linfield, with wins for Gary Johnston (26), Dean McDonagh (47), Shaun McAlister (31, 38), Anthony McCorry (28) and C. O’Toole (20).

The Point secured a 4-1 success against Ballyclare Old Boys thanks to E. Carson, Aaron McKee, Gary McNeill and Graham Ferguson (21).

The visitors’ response came courtesy of Stevie Crymble (24).

Latharna sit level points with their clubmates but have won one match less.

They kept the pressure on as they ran out 5-0 winners against Ballyclare GC B. Raymond Weir, W. Millar (24), Jim Jackson (22, 21), George McGregor and Gavin Carmichael all won their frames.

Ballyclare ‘A’ sit fourth with Q-Club A close behind in fifth despite losing 3-2 against Carrick A. Andy Lilly (34) and Lee Topping (44) won for the Snooker Club, with Gavin Baker, K. Knocker and Ricky Bradley (29) winning for the golfers.

The second half of the season continues with a reverse of the fixtures.

The Billy Phillips Memorial competition begins on Monday January 12 (ten red handicap).

The next league meeting is set to be held in St John’s Club on January 26 at 7:30 pm, when the draws for three man team, the Dr Scott Memorial and handicap team competition will take place.

Any outstanding fees and recent fines must be paid. Sheets will be given out for Open Individual, and plus-21 Individual.
