Hockey: Laura bags the winner for Dromore
Dromore 3rds who have just been promoted into Junior 3, wanted to ensure a solid performance to kick off the new season. Match began well with Dromore holding the majority of procession with great runs from Laura Stewart, feeding the ball into the circle for Jemma Smith to have the first shot on goal but unfortunately Dungannon goal keeper standing strong and clearing the ball.
Alex Patterson and Ellen Wright going for every ball, 5mins before half time a great run from Alex Taylor to Laura Stewart who placed the ball straight down the left hand side of the goal keeper to push the Dromore side a head. Half time came and went, with both teams coming out ready to push the game until the end.
Dungannon attacked the Dromore team hard, but Dromore fought hard and kept their cool with great skill from Eimear Cunningham and Megan McClean in midfield showing great determination. Each member of the team worked hard to keep their lead untill full time, final score DROMORE 3XI 1 DUNGANNON 2XI 0.
