The race began on Friday evening in glorious weather and with smiling faces as the 60 odd A4 riders set of from the Millenium Centre.

Friday’s stage was a short 28 mile sprint on a relatively flat course. Unsurprisingly the peloton stayed together until the end were Luke Hylands emerged the strongest to take the sprint finish to win the stage and take the overall lead.

If the weather was kind on the Friday it could not have been more cruel on the Saturday morning.

* Ulster TTT Championships - Congratulations to Duffin Transport’s Junior cyclist Craig Crawford who was part of a junior composite time trailing team that took part in the 25mile Ulster TTT Championships.

Riding in a team with fellow juniors Connor Young (Ballymena), Craig McAuley (VO2 Development Team) and Conor McAteer (Bann Valley) the young riders had a time of 52.27 to finish third quickest team on the night. This was a brilliant time against some very accomplished teams.
