Jessica on form as Bann hold Greenisland to a stalemate in Junior Five

Banbridge Ladies Thirds travelled to Carrick Leisure Centre to play out a 0-0 stalemate with a strong Greenisland team which had been hovering in the top three teams in Junior Five.

Having much of the pressure on the Greenisland goals, the forward line of Emma Leeper, Punam McGookin and Jessica Faulkner created penetrating runs and passes to deliver the ball into the circle supported by a determined midfield Sarah, Jess and Ashleigh Mitchell.

Sarah even slotted the ball into the net on a reverse hit following a number rebound attempts only to be thwarted by the whistle a few seconds earlier.

Substitute Hannah Hopper made a welcome return to the Thirds on the right wing.

The back line of Robyn Calvert, Rachel Groves and Naomi Haugh successfully handled a number of attempts by the Greenisland team, supported by sweeper Jo-Anne Lyttle and keeper Louise Beckett.

Player of the match was awarded to Jessica Faulkner for her determination and speed.
