Jordan comes out on top

RAFTERS Snooker Club held its annual Under-17's competition last week.Sixteen players entered the non-handicapped event which cost just £3 with Rafters sponsoring the lights.

All matches were played over the best of three games, except for the final which was best of five.

In the crunch decider Jordan McCullough beat Jason McLaughlin by three frames to nil. (Jordan 44 v 33 Jason, Jordan 45 v 21 Jason and Jordan 61 v 39 Jason).

Cups were presented to the winner and runner-up.

The losing players played each other on a best of three basis.

In the final of this competition Stephan Lee beat Nigel Elder by two frames to one.

The competition was played over three weeks on Tuesday nights, enjoyed by all. Rafters are looking forward to future competitions with some of these young kids entering the the handicapped competition which is open to all.
