Co Antrim motorist had high drink reading on day of a funeral
A motorist was detected over the drink drive limit on the day of a funeral, a court was told
The 39-year-old had collided with another vehicle in Ballymena. Around 4.30pm on September 16 this year police responded to a report of a "damage only" collision.
Officers smelt alcohol and Shannon Melville, with an address listed as Bush Park in Antrim town, had an alcohol in breath reading of 94 - the legal limit is 35. She had been uninsured.
A defence solicitor said "minor damage" had been caused to the wheel of another vehicle.

He said the defendant "was attending a funeral on the day that she drove the vehicle".
She had been drinking the night before and had more drink the next day, he added.
District Judge Nigel Broderick said it was a "high reading" and banned the defendant from driving for 15 months and fined her £275.
