It is the first time ever that the flag will be flying at Lisnagarvey as no one in the past accepted the invitation to become president of the Association.

Ken Armstrong has put that ommision right and he will be NIBA president for the coming season.

It will be with pride that Garvey at last fly their Association flag throughout the season.

The club was formed on October 3, 1956, so it has been a long wait for this special occasion.

Ken Armstrong, of course, unfurled the flag, watched by the Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh, Thomas Beckett, and Lisnagarvey president, Ivan Craig.

Among the other special guests were IBA president, Robert Madden; NI Provincial Association president, Noel Linton; NI Private Greens president, David McCloy and Bowling League of Ireland vice-president, John Leonard.

A match was played after the ceremony and guests treated to a meal by the club.
