Kildress have 16 medal haul

Young students from Kildress Wado-Kai Karate Club who took part in the Irish Wado-Kai competition in Killyleagh at the weekend brought back a total of 16 medals.

The local team won four gold , two silvers and ten bronze medals in what was a superb haul.

Club Kumite (fighting) coach Martina said, “It was great to see young children showing such enthusiasm and stamina for a Martial Art.”

Kildress Wado-Kai opens Tuesdays 7pm for juniors (7 years) and seniors and Omagh Leisure Center (8pm Mondays) and Killyclougher (7pm Thursdays).

All grades are recognised by the JKF (Japan Karate Federation) and now has four instructors (registered DAN grades with JKF), all having Child Protection and First Aid Certification.
