Lisburn ladies celebrate recent successes at their May Prize Night

Lisburn GC ladies' branch hosted their May Prize Night recently to praise the award winning golfers.

Secretary Lynne Brown welcomed everyone and paid a special tribute to Paula Grant, who shot five under in the Montrose Trophy last Sunday.

The coaching has started for ‘Give Golf a Go’ and Lynne encouraged members to put their names down to help with the ladies on the course after the initial four week coaching was completed.

Lady Captain Daphne Bailie then thanked everyone for coming along to support the prize-winners and sponsors. She thanked the sponsors of the weekly competitions – the Ladies are very generous in giving prizes and it is very much appreciated.

She welcomed Mark Orr and William and Catherine Boyd as her guests. Daphne paid special tribute to Dorothy Boyd who has been Lady Captain and Lady President of Lisburn Golf Club as well as Lady Captain at Ballycastle Golf Club.

Her son William has agreed to continue the sponsorship of the Boyd Plate, which his mother Dorothy started many years ago.

She thanked Mark Orr for taking the time to come along to present the prizes on the day the Janice Orr Trophy was competed for.

Daphne also paid tribute to the Challenge Cup Team and Team Captain Colleen Logan, who are now through to the third round after winning at Killymoon last Monday.
