Local kickboxer’s Italian Job proves a success

Nine year old Ballymena Kick Boxing Club member Robbie Wilson, the N.I. under 12 kick boxing champion has just raised £390 for The Cedar Foundation.

Named ‘The Italian Job’ the event aimed to raise funds for Cedar as well as part fund Robbie’s trip to the World Championship in Taranto, Italy.

Robbie, his father Stephen and coach Angela Swan performed 1,899 kick boxing techniques, the distance in miles between Randalstown and Taranto in Italy.

Christine Tweedie from Cedar said: “A massive thanks to Robbie, Stephen and Angela who put on a great display. This was a novel way of raising funds, but we are always grateful to people who support us. Good luck to Robbie in Italy.”

The Cedar Foundation delivers a range of services that enable people with disabilities to get the most out of life and to be fully included in their communities.
