Magee and Reynolds team up to secure gold medals in Cardiff

This year’s U15 4 Nations Quadrangular was hosted by Wales in the Sports Wales National Centre, Cardiff.

In the individual event 12-year-old Kyle Magee, paired up with his team-mate Paul Reynolds from Dublin to compete in the boys doubles. The boys secured a place in the semi-final beating the Welsh pair in two games.

The semi-final was a thrilling three game match against the top English boys which led the Irish boys to the final. Kyle and Paul then faced the number one seeds in the event, Scottish twins Matthew and Christopher Grimley. It was to be the closest match of the tournament, but the Irish pair won 21-19, 12-21, 24-22, to secure a a gold medal.

The Foyle & Londonderry College pupil, who plays in the Glasgow Youth International competition at the end of the month, has had an outstanding season winning winning medals at various tournaments in Ireland and England.
