Penalty agony for Northern Ireland

A late penalty dashed Northern Ireland's hopes of an opening victory against Mexico in the Elite section.

Martin Galvan fired home an 81st minute spot-kick after Adam Thompson's close-range finish in the 73rd minute.

The goal was set up by Sunderland defender Liam Bagnall, whose heroics turned sour nine minutes from time when he clattered into Victor Manon to gift Galvan his penalty.
