“The team have made a few key personnel additions and I feel this is the perfect place for me to be to fight for the title, credit to Mark Webster,” said Irwin. “I am training harder than ever, nobody wants it more than me this year.”

MWR Team owner Mark Webster commented: “With a full season under his belt in the MWR squad, Andrew showed last year that he has the pace to fight for race wins. This season, he is, one year on, a much wiser and complete rider and I am convinced he will be a championship contender.”

He added: “We are throwing everything we have into these two this year, with the aim of taking that championship.

“I have sat down with both riders and discussed at length how we will approach this year as a team.

“We all know what is achievable and what it takes to make it happen. Everyone is as focused as each other in putting the team in a position to realise it’s full potential with the continued support of team sponsors Spur UK and Pawson Commercials.”
