After a slow start to the season, the Toomebridge rider has enjoyed a strong second half of the season and currently sits fourth in the championship standings after sixth and second places in Sunday’s round at SIlverstone.

“It’s been a tough year - we started with a new bike to myself and the team but we now have a bike that we can do something with and we are at the sharp end,” said Laverty.

“We have come on leaps and bounds and it makes sense to continue our partnership, so we will engage in discussions in the coming days.

“We should be championship contenders next year for sure so I’d like to be part of that.”

Of last weekend’s results, Laverty said: “I was the only one who chose the hard rear tyre but we had that strategy right from Friday,” said Laverty.

“We maybe don’t set the fastest lap times but it allowed us to be strong at the end of the race. The boys made some clever changes for race two and even with the hard tyre I hung in there and fought. It’s nice to get second place,” he added.

“We’ve had a strong weekend and got to put the Tyco BMW on the rostrum. I’m getting more and more comfortable on the S1000RR and now that I’m getting my teeth into it, we might just have a little bit more to show at Brands Hatch.”
