The double British champion said: “We’ve now found a decent base setting on the Supersport bike and on Sunday we posted a handful of consistent mid-35s (1:35].

“In the first session of the week I was coming in knowing we could make improvements, but in Sunday’s second session, there were hardly any areas where we I was struggling, so it was a joy to mark up my track map at the end of the session.”

Looking ahead, Seeley added: “When we start going to the BSB tracks it will just be a matter of dialing in certain changes to suit, but I’ve every confidence in the team and my crew chief Andy Jamison and mechanic Boost.

“I feel very comfortable on the bike now and am well pleased with the Cartagena test as we made a lot of progress.”
