Moyola Anglers to hold Open Day for kids

KIDS from across Mid Ulster will be given the opportunity to catch their first fish next month at the open day held by the local angling club.

The Moyola Anglers Open day takes place on Saturday September 21st.

Proceedings kick off at 11am. The lake will be open from 11am to 1pm with an hour break when we will have a display by the World of Owls, which has in the past proved to be a fantastic entertaining and educational display.

The Duck race will also be held before the lake opens again. Then the remaining children will get a chance to land their first trout.

Cost per child is £2 and one fish may be kept by each child.

Please feel free to bring along your own rods etc, but do not worry if you dont have any as the club can supply them along with worms. Sweetcorn and powerbait will not be allowed.

As with other years each child must be accompanied by an adult.

An open competition will take place on Sunday 22nd. Admission is £10, Legal methods include, fly fishing,spinning and worms. No sweetcorn or powerbait will be allowed.

The competition secretary will explain the rules before the competition and his decision is final.

The money raised from this competition will go to Charis Cancer Care at Lough Fea.

Thanks to DCAL, Inland Fisheries Group who have donated the fish in support of this very worthwhile cause.

Please note Bradleys Lake will be closed to all anglers from 1st September to Monday 23rd September.
