Netball: Cookstown High School girls win minor and junior tournaments

Cookstown High School’s Minor Netball Squad A and B attended the Year 9 Cross Community Netball tournament on Thursday in Torrent Centre in Donaghmore.

Six teams were involved and teams played in a round robin in which Cookstown A squad successfully won all matches in their section, while the B team only lost one - A squad.

This resulted in Cookstown A playing Cookstown B squad in the final. After an extremely tough and exciting match, the A squad emerged winners 5-2. Well done to both teams for reaching the final and for bringing home gold and silver medals.

Torrent Centre hosted Junior Cross Community tournament, in which Cookstown High School took part alongside Omagh High School, Holy Trinity College, Integrated College Dungannon, Drumglass, Drumragh and Cookstown took part in round robin.

Cookstown defeated all teams to reach the final where they played Omagh High School, Cookstown winning convincingly 9-3 to bring home gold medals once again.
