The first edition of ULSTER SATURDAY NIGHT focused on Ulster’s final Heineken Cup Pool Four match in France against Castres, as well as special features on Dungannon Swifts’ Emmet Friars and Belfast Giants’ Graeme Walton - and there was lots lots more.

News Letter Sports Editor, Richard Mulligan, said: “Like everything new, our first edition was missing some of our planned regular features, mainly due to the winter weather and a couple of teething problems

“However, the 16 page package delivered by the team certainly struck the right chord.

“News Letter Sport prides itself on having quality content and a strong look to our sports sections, whether it is our daily coverage, special supplements such as Sports Ulster, Total Rugby and Keep ‘Er Lit.

“Ulster Saturday Night maintains this, indeed enhances it, but more importantly it now offers people with the opportunity of getting all their sport in one smart package than having to trawl through hyperspace.

“No longer can others say ‘read it first’ on a Sunday, because it is more than likely in Ulster Saturday Night now.”

Richard added: “We are bringing in a couple more features in week two (January 26) which will become regular to Ulster Saturday Night. And we will continually be developing things as we continue to make progress.”

The News Letter recently launched its new iPad and Android tablet apps, offering the latest news throughout the day as well as complete electronic copies of the newspaper.
