No comeback for U13s

Dromara 3 Sunnyside U13s 1

SUNNYSIDE U13s were beaten 3-1 at Glenmore on Saturday by Dromara.

As has been the case all season Sunnyside struggled to get an early grip on the game and after eight minutes found themselves 1-0 down when a Dromara player collected a pass from midfielfd and calmy chipped the ball in from the edge of the penalty area.

Sunnyside thought they had got back on level terms when Joe Fitzsimmons did well to stretch and head over the Dromara keeper but with the ball crossing the line Shane Russell touched it and was ruled offside.

Fitzsimmons was doing well for Sunnyside but had to be withdrawn just before the interval when he took a knock.

In the second half Sunnyside did have more play, mostly through Damian Lynch who fought hard for every ball. However, Dromara did break forward from midfield and had a couple of chances, one hit the post, another was well cleared by Ryan Conway.

Dromara doubled their lead when the ball was lost in midfield again and the attack was not cleared. Then Sunnyside got a free kick, which the goalkeeper couldn't hold and Shayne Lavey followed in to pull a goal back. Any chances of a comeback like last week were ruled out when Dromara got their third when a cross was headed home.
