Nostalgia: Proud record of Craigavon boxer

Only 17 defeats in 128 bouts – that was the proud record of Craigavon boxer Peter Corrigan.

In 1977 the ‘Mail’ told the story of the 52-year-old who was a former Ulster Junior Lightweight champion.

And his record could have been even more impressive but for an eye injury which halted his career just after he had turned professional in England.

As an amateur he won the Irish title and fought a host of well known boxers including a Golden Gloves champion.
