Picture special from annual BB cross-country championship

THE annual cross-country championships of the Ballymena and District Battalion of the Boys` Brigade were held in excellent weather conditions at Ballymena Academy recently.

The event was well supported by family and friends and boys from all the various age ranges.

All the races were held in a highly competitive but sporting manner.

There was high drama in the last race of the day, for senior boys.

Chris Simpson, of Ballymena Baptist Company, who had led for all the race slowed in the closing few metres and was passed by last years winner, Steven Rankin of Ballee Company to again take the honours of first place.

Dan Chestnut (3rd Ballymena); 7. Colby Davison (1st Ballymena); 8. Noah Patterson (4th Ballymena); 9. Alex Buchanan (1st Glenwherry); 10. Corey Rock (1st Cullybackey).

Team race: 1. 1st Cullybackey; 2. 1st Glenwherry; 3. 4th Ballymena
